This Tecnoseal kit replaces the sacrificial anodes on a Mercury Bravo 3 sterndrive from 2004 to present, in zinc, with the hardware included. Zinc is the traditional anode metal for salt water, protecting your drive’s aluminum housing and stainless components from galvanic corrosion.

Choosing the right anode metal

Salt water: zinc or aluminum.

Fresh water: magnesium. Zinc can build up a coating in fresh water and stop protecting.

Brackish or moving between salt and fresh: aluminum is usually the most versatile choice.

Replace them when about half is gone, never paint them, and make sure they have clean metal-to-metal contact. See our anode guide.
