Marine LED deck, courtesy and navigation lights: which type fits your boat?
For marine deck and spreader lighting, compare flood versus spot beam patterns and aim the fixture so it illuminates the work area without shining into the helm. Courtesy lights are intended for steps, footwells and walkways. Navigation, masthead, stern and anchor lights have different functions: choose the correct fixture, mounting position, visibility and operating configuration for the vessel rather than treating decorative LED lights as a substitute.
Before selecting marine lighting accessories or installing a replacement, check system voltage, current draw, mounting pattern, wire routing, overcurrent protection, suitable connectors and the manufacturer exposure rating. A surface-mounted underwater light must be rated for continuous immersion; an exposed deck light has different sealing needs. Compare the actual listed fixtures and verify model specifications, installation requirements and availability before ordering.
