Add up your loads. Size the inverter for the total continuous load plus the startup surge of motors and compressors.

Size the bank. Inverters draw heavy DC current; at 12V, every 100W of AC load pulls roughly 9–10A from the battery.

Protect both sides. Fuse the DC input close to the battery with correctly sized cable, and provide proper grounding and GFCI protection on the AC side.
