This Tecnoseal kit replaces the sacrificial anodes on a Mercury Bravo 3 sterndrive from 2004 to present, in magnesium, with the hardware included. Magnesium is the most active anode metal, which makes it the right choice for boats that live in fresh water, where zinc can stop working.

Choosing the right anode metal

Fresh water: magnesium.

Salt water: zinc or aluminum. Never use magnesium in salt water, where it corrodes away very fast.

Brackish or moving between salt and fresh: aluminum is usually the most versatile choice.

Replace them when about half is gone, never paint them, and make sure they have clean metal-to-metal contact. See our anode guide.
