The Standard Horizon GX1410GB is the Eclipse series 25-watt fixed-mount VHF with GPS built in, in a black housing. With Class D DSC and a separate Channel 70 receiver, it can send a distress alert with your vessel identity, position, and time at the press of a button once your MMSI is programmed.

Register an MMSI before first use. DSC distress calls only identify your boat if an MMSI number is programmed into the radio. Recreational boaters in U.S. waters can get one free from BoatUS, Sea Tow, or the U.S. Power Squadrons; boats traveling internationally need one through the FCC.

Range comes from the antenna. VHF is line-of-sight, so antenna height and good coax matter more than anything else. See our VHF antenna guide.
