The Scout Titan Series is a 4-foot, 3 dB antenna built tougher than most short antennas, with a thick 2 mm fiberglass body, AISI 316 stainless ferrule, and a stated IP69 water-resistance rating. It is the pick when you want compact height without a flimsy whip. The black finish suits black hardtops, T-tops, and dark-trimmed boats.
Who it’s for
- T-tops and hardtops where an 8-foot antenna is impractical
- Fast boats where a short, stiff antenna holds up better
- Owners who want a compact antenna that survives abuse
Key features
- 4 ft length, 3 dB stated gain
- 2 mm fiberglass body
- AISI 316 stainless-steel ferrule
- Foam-injected, stated IP69 water resistance
- 5 m RG-58 coax with PL-259 connector included
- Black finish
Choosing the right antenna
-
Gain vs. beam: a 3 dB antenna has a wider signal pattern that keeps working when the boat rolls or heels, which suits sailboats and rough water. A 6 dB antenna concentrates the signal toward the horizon for more range on stable powerboats.
-
Height is range: VHF is line-of-sight, so mounting the antenna higher does more for range than extra gain. On a sailboat, a short masthead antenna usually outperforms a long antenna mounted low.
-
Coax matters: RG-58 is fine for short runs; RG-8X loses less signal over longer runs; RG-213 is the choice for long commercial runs. Keep connections dry and sealed.

Before ordering
Confirm your mount thread, that 5 m of coax reaches your radio, and that the range of a 4-foot antenna fits how far offshore you run.
