The Perko 8504DP is a medium-duty battery selector switch that lets you choose which battery or bank runs the boat (1, 2, BOTH, or OFF) and adds two features cheaper switches skip: an alternator field disconnect that helps protect the alternator if the switch is turned while the engine runs, and a key lock so nobody can switch power on without you.

Installation tips

Match cable size to the load. Size battery cables for the full current and run length, and use proper lugs on the 5/16 in studs.

Wire the field disconnect correctly. The alternator field disconnect only protects the alternator if it is connected to the alternator’s field circuit per the instructions.

Turn it only with the engine off unless your system is designed for it.
