Perko 8503DP Medium Duty Battery Selector Switch w/Alternator Field Disconnect w/o Key Lock
Perko
The Perko 8503DP is a medium-duty battery selector switch for choosing which battery or bank powers the boat (1, 2, BOTH, or OFF), with an alternator field disconnect that helps protect the alternator if the switch is turned while the engine is running. It is the same switch as the 8504DP, without the key lock.
Who it’s for
- Two-battery boats that want a simple manual selector
- Owners who don’t need a lockable OFF position
- Replacing a worn or corroded selector switch
Key features
- For 6–32V marine electrical systems
- 250A continuous, 360A intermittent for 5 minutes
- Alternator field disconnect
- 5/16 in terminal studs
- About 5-1/4 in diameter x 2-5/8 in deep
- Ignition protected
Installation tips
- Match cable size to the load. Size battery cables for the full current and run length, and use proper lugs on the 5/16 in studs.
- Wire the field disconnect correctly. It only protects the alternator if connected to the alternator’s field circuit per the instructions.
- Turn it only with the engine off unless your system is designed for it.
